A Great Loss...

This week has been a very difficult week for myself and my family.

Sadly my rabbit Teddy passed away, and the next day a wonderful special man, my Grandad.

I wasn't going to create this blog post, however I've found that looking through the photo's and writing this post is in a way helping me to cope a little.

Firstly I'll introduce you to Teddy; I honestly couldn't have found a better pet. I fell in love with this ball of fluff as soon as I met her and brought her home when she was already a year old. She was a sensitive little soul; always hopping over to comfort me when she could tell I was down or stressed. She would always sneak into my bags, snuggle up on my shoulder for a snooze and try to groom me. She even did tricks for treats.

Although to some people she was just a rabbit, she had the biggest personality I've seen in an animal and she will be dearly missed.

Next my grandad, Don, the real Carl Fredricksen.

His health has suffered a lot over the years but he was a perfect example of how amazing and important the NHS is, he came back from the brink more times than I can count and he was definitely a fighter.

I'll always remember his endless supply of Kit Kats and Wagon Wheels in the fridge just in case one of his MANY grandchildren or great grandchildren popped in to visit. He also lived in Falmouth for a few years before returning to Derby (partly the reason why I decided to study there) and on days out I would take him to The Waterman's pub by the sea, where he would enjoy a pint of Pedigree and a cigar. I'd reluctantly push him in his wheelchair up the hills around Falmouth because as he put I was 'a young girl who needed the exercise'. What I wouldn't give to be doing that now, or to be holding his hand whilst he tried to crack my knuckles.

He was one in a million, a kind sweet man with the best chuckle ever and will always be remembered.

Love you forever Grandad xxx
